Foundation Skills in Hairdressing TEC – Funded (Youth & TOP places)
This programme is designed to spark an interest in hairdressing and learning from those that have not succeeded in school or in the work force.
Government funded over 42 weeks this Certificate take Trainees through a variety of modules including foundation hairdressing skills, salon support skills and a selection of colouring work.
Applicants must be a minimum of 15.5 years on application, have a minimum of 2 years secondary education and less than 8 credits in math and/or English. TEC also have a variety of criteria that must be met before entry is granted. A literacy and numeracy test is conducted prior to enrolment approval to ensure applicant have the necessary basic skills to successfully complete the programme.
A small equipment kit is provided for each trainee during their training and is returned at the end of study.
Course Content includes: Delivery, practice and assessment of unit standards towards the National Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon Support), Foundation skills, Life skills, Work placement, Customer service, and general work skills.
